Chapter 503 Don't Die, Bastard
Chapter 503 Don't Die, Bastard
Aaron's breathing stagnated slightly, but soon returned to being cold: "We don't need this kind of meaningless conversation between us."
“Meaningless?” Lucien chuckled, and suddenly leaned in close, his lips almost touching his earlobe. “Then why do you always sit closest to me at every Inquisition meeting?”
Aaron's muscles tensed instantly, and his breathing beneath the mask became noticeably disrupted.
“Or…” Lucien lowered his voice even lower, with a seductive hoarseness, “You have actually been waiting for me to take the initiative?”
"Shut up." Aaron pushed him away violently, his heterochromatic eyes surging with suppressed anger and something deeper, "Don't forget your identity, Inquisitor."
Lucien was pushed back and stumbled, his back hitting the cold stone wall, but he still smiled nonchalantly: "My identity?" He slowly straightened his torn collar, "The son of a traitor? An undercover? Or..."
He suddenly raised his hand, and gently stroked his lips with his fingertips, staring straight at Aaron: "The person who secretly kissed you on the execution ground three years ago?"
Aaron's body visibly stiffened.
(Flashback: Execution ground three years ago)
Under the scorching sun, Lucien approached Aaron, who was bound by chains, holding a branding iron.
The church's top leaders whispered on the execution platform: "Seal that monster completely." And the moment the branding iron touched his skin, he used his fingertips to wipe the reversal rune hidden on his cuffs.
"Live."
He then mouthed to Aaron, "To see the day when their sins come back upon them."
At the moment the stigmata branding was completed, everyone thought that Lucien was leaning over to check the wound.
Only Aaron knew that the man wearing the Inquisitor's mask had once, under the cover of shadow, placed a kiss as light as a feather on the corner of his lips.
"You..." Aaron's voice rarely wavered, "Why did you do that at the time?"
Lucien's eyes suddenly became serious: "Because I know that might be the last time."
The air froze for a second.
Aaron grabbed his collar so hard that their noses almost touched. His breath was hot, carrying emotions that had been suppressed for many years: "Lucien Krono, you are a complete bastard."
Lucien chuckled. “And you, Lord Knight, are a hypocrite who even refrains from cursing.”
The next second, Aaron kissed her fiercely.
This kiss was filled with violent anger and long-suppressed desire. Lucien's head hit the stone wall hard, but he smiled and greeted it, even biting Aaron's lower lip provocatively. The smell of blood spread between his lips and teeth, like some kind of belated revenge.
When the two finally separated, Aaron's handsome face was half red. Lucien wiped the blood from the corner of his lips with his thumb, his eyes dark: "Now, what are you going to do with me, this 'asshole'?"
Aaron took a deep breath, suddenly pulled off his mask, and looked at him with his heterochromatic eyes: "Wait until this is over..."
"I want you to tell me in person what that kiss meant."
Lucien was stunned for a moment, then he laughed even more wantonly: "Sir Knight Commander, are you asking for a promise from me?"
Aaron did not answer, but put on his mask again and turned to walk towards the dungeon exit. But when he took the third step, he suddenly paused and whispered without turning his head:
“Don’t die, asshole.”
Lucien looked at his back, and a rare softness flashed in his silver-gray eyes: "As you command, my Knight Commander."
