Chapter 506 - 506: Water and Lightning
Chapter 506 - 506: Water and Lightning
Astra hung in the sky, lightning sparking and crackling around her body, which itself was wrapped in a pure white armour that added to her divine allure. Underneath that, she was wrapped in her liquid ferrometal armour, offering two layers of protection. She still remembered what it was like to be stabbed through the stomach, and she was not keen on letting that happen again. This armour had been made special for her so that it wouldn't heat up whilst it was in use. It had only been completed after their adventure in the other world. Which was terribly inconvenient for that little adventure, but perfect for a grand entrance now, as well as a viable stress test.
Her two toned hair flapped in the wind and her eyes crackled with barely contained rage. With gritted teeth, she glared down at the infiltrator and growled lowly,
"Surrender or Die. Those are the only two outcomes today."
Neptune kept himself surrounded by a tight ring of swirling sea water, that constantly interfered with Bob's sandy assaults. He let out a condescending laugh, leaning on his Trident as if he had no cares in the world.
"That is true... but not in the way you hope. The Master has made sure that Death will never be able to touch me again, no matter how much He tries. You on the other hand? Well... since you don't seem to know to surrender and kneel to your betters, then allow me to introduce the two of you."
He thrust his Trident forwards, sending a jet of water into the sky. It was a thin stream, barely wider than a human finger, and with all of the salt and sand that polluted that water, it had turned it into the perfect cutting tool.
The same pressurised stream that humans used to use to cut through steel.
Astra lunged to the side, dodging the pressurised jet, and then again to dodge the huge torrent of water that he shot her way. It was obvious just looking at her that a single touch of that water was not going to be a pleasant time, but since when has that stopped her from doing anything?
Streams of lightning leapt from her outstretched hands, crashing into the water streams which surged with the power she poured into them. The lightning cut through the streams and blasted into the ground where the Sea God had once stood.
Just like that the game of cat and mouse had begun, each one blasting at each other from a distance in great displays of power. Each torrent of water sent out being blasted into oblivion by a bolt of lightning.
Neither one wanted to get close to the other. As much as Neptune's watery barrier was dreadful for Astra, her lightning was just as bad for him. Partly because his own water barrier, which was acting as his defence, would also turn the wild lightning on himself, but also because this body was borrowed.
Worse than borrowed, it was human. Just reminding himself of that fact turned his stomach. It was a borrowed vessel that was truly and utterly pathetic, without the basic ability to breathe underwater. How worthless was that?
As if that wasn't bad enough, it couldn't hope to contain all of his power and severely limited his output. If it wasn't for his trusty Trident, then he would not be having as easy as a time, and even that was strangled.
Had he been here with his true body, with his true resistance levels and true power on display for this worthless false god to witness for herself, this would have been over long ago.
After all with the Thunderer always around, begging for a fight with anything that moved, Neptune had accounted for his weakness to lightning long ago. But only in his true body.
The one that was having the worst time of all was not Neptune, despite his ego constantly dragging him down. Bob was constantly being suppressed and they weren't even intending to do it.
Every blast of Astra's lightning left craters in the sand, which had been rapidly turned to glass from the heat of her bolts. Glass which Bob could not use.
Every movement or attack of Neptune's brought with it a wash of water that clumped the sand together, interfering with his control over it.
He was surrounded by dead zones and useless portions of his body, which were only being made more plentiful as time went on. His dramatic entrance almost felt wasted as his contributions rapidly diminished.
On the plus side, however, it seemed that it made the mighty Neptune forget all about poor little Bob. As when Pegusi descended from the skies and started to dive bomb Astra, forcing her attention away from the Sea God.
Neptune probably thought this was his chance to escape, which he promptly took without hesitation. Twirling his Trident dramatically, he pointed it downwards and let loose a stream of water from its tip that sent him flying into the air like a rocket.
He propelled through the air by the power of his Trident, like some water themed witch who really wanted to make it rain for people, as he flew right into the colossal fist that Bob had formed and which quickly emerged from the ground.
Not only was the fist huge, but it even had glass knuckles, thanks to him gathering up all the useless sections to form the perfect punching hand.
Neptune got his brief moment of triumph before he was swiftly and unceremoniously smacked out of the air like he was nothing more than an irritating fly. His body reversed course, rocketing towards the ground which was already starting to shift to greet him.
The sand raised and morphed, turning into a huge face that opened its mouth wide and chomped down on the little watery tart. The face slowly chewed as it crushed and ground the Sea God's body against its sandstone teeth.
