Chapter 81: In-Depth Exploration of the Earth Cavern Race

Chapter 81: Chapter 81: In-Depth Exploration of the Earth Cavern RaceThe bones on the ground did not affect Rosen’s mood. After all, he had seen countless bones, both human and non-human.

What really made Rosen feel uncomfortable was the excrement of the Earth Cavern Race, among which quite a bit of undigested flesh mixed with a nauseating stench of blood and feces.

It truly made one’s head spin.

"I suppose we shouldn’t go up to test the strength of the army inside. Just the smell is enough to kill me,"

Speaking to himself, Rosen had already backed out of the tunnel, finally freeing himself from the unbearable odor.

"Lord, did you see the situation inside?" the Beastman Prophet approached as Rosen emerged from the underground cave.

"Hmm, it’s reeking to high heaven. Do you think our army can handle it?" Rosen asked.

If they cannot withstand it, anyone who enters will faint from the stench, if not lose their fighting capability.

"The excrement of the Earth Cavern Race has accumulated underground for years, causing the soil to ferment and produce large amounts of toxic gas. Regular troops cannot attack inside unless they have a strong immunity to toxins."

Listening to the Prophet’s words, Rosen realized that his troops lacked units with toxin immunity.

"Is there any possibility we could send a fire down and ignite the toxic gases inside the cave, causing an explosion?"

Since a direct approach wouldn’t work, Rosen contemplated a sneakier, simpler method.

But he was met with the Prophet’s disapproval:

"The toxic gases generated by the Earth Cavern Race come from their innate ability as a defensive measure — they cannot be ignited."

Thinking it over, Rosen agreed. After all, this was a talent of the Demon Race, and it’s bound to differ from biogas fermentation in reality. The inability to ignite it can be understood.

"Should we just retreat then?" Rosen asked.

The Prophet closed his eyes, foresee the future, and quickly opened them again saying, "I can sense that once you lead the army to attack the caverns, the army’s combat abilities will be significantly reduced. The various tactics of the Earth Cavern Race will lead to your defeat. You must know, underground is their home turf!"

With the Prophet’s premonition, Rosen wouldn’t act against it. After all, he had spent billions buying these three thousand troops from the Lord Market.

Although there were twenty-seven thousand advanced units bought from the market on the other side of the territory, they were not summoned by barracks and thus cannot be resurrected by resources.

Use them wisely and cherish them.

"Withdraw!" Rosen then issued the order to retreat twenty kilometers back to their own territory.

It was on the way back that Rosen once again thought of the large underground passage leading straight towards his territory.

Such a large passage could allow the Earth Cavern Race to lead a considerable army to attack from underground towards the territory here.

Who knows how long this passage has been under construction?

Has the Earth Cavern Race already noticed the situation in Rosen’s three territories?

If so, he should be cautious, lest his territory is raided by the Earth Cavern Race while he’s out hunting, leading to irreparable regret.

Returning to the territory, Rosen observed around the surroundings of the Naga Race,
