Chapter 295 Huge Machinery
Chapter 295 Huge Machinery
"Ok."
Upon hearing Ling Ye's invitation, Moros nodded without hesitation and followed in Ling Ye's footsteps, walking together toward the mysterious light barrier.
Lingyan and Lingluo, like two defeated roosters, hung their heads listlessly and reluctantly followed behind the two of them.
Once everyone had entered the light barrier, the previously opened holes began to slowly close, as if an invisible hand was gently shutting them off.
Immediately afterwards, a dazzling white light flashed, instantly illuminating the entire space.
After the light dissipated, the light shield had returned to its original state, looking completely unchanged.
Lingye led Meros through the light barrier, passing through an extremely busy work area along the way.
Here, you can see a large group of people busily operating or diligently recording various data around a huge machine.
The machine stood there like a steel behemoth, closely connected to the entire light shield, its massive body occupying almost a third of the space inside the shield.
The machine radiated terrifying waves of heat, making the surrounding air unbearably hot.
That's why, even though the cooling system inside the light shield was set to the lowest temperature, it still couldn't dispel the scorching heat.
Almost everyone inside was wearing short-sleeved clothing to minimize the discomfort caused by the high temperatures.
As Melos followed closely behind Lingye, he curiously observed the surrounding scenery and the awe-inspiring, enormous machine.
The enormous machine resembled a colossal beast from ancient times, standing in stark contrast to modern technology, appearing so out of place and exuding a strong, almost suffocating sense of incongruity.
Modern technological products all strive for the ultimate in smooth lines, highly integrated modular structures, and simple and pure color schemes in their design.
This style not only showcases superb craftsmanship, but also allows people to deeply appreciate the beauty of technology it embodies at a glance.
However, the enormous machine in front of them seemed to be going in the exact opposite direction.
Its massive body has a plump, round belly shape, just like an inflated balloon.
But a quick glance reveals that the round belly is covered with many large and small protrusions, which are like ugly patches, scattered haphazardly, and clearly nailed on with clumsy rivets.
In addition, several incredibly thick tubes extend from this round mechanical body, some curving and spiraling, others stretching straight out, each connecting to the main body in a unique manner.
Each pipe has different symbols, clearly indicating different uses.
At the exit of each pipe, a large, densely packed crowd of people gathered.
They huddled close to the exit, chattering amongst themselves about something, and occasionally someone seemed to be arguing with them because of differing opinions.
They were either intently observing every detail of the machine, disassembling and inspecting it with tools in hand, or whispering and discussing the various mysteries of the machine.
They circled the exit layer upon layer, to the point that unless you got close, you couldn't see what was inside that made it worth so many people discussing it.
Everyone's face showed curiosity and focus, as if they were completely immersed in exploring this mysterious object.
Looking at the enormous machine again, it stood like a steel behemoth, its massive body densely covered with various exposed mechanical parts and gears of all sizes.
These parts are intertwined and tightly connected, forming a complex and mysterious mechanical diagram.
The overall appearance of the machine leaves an indescribable impression. It exudes a dirty and slightly worn-out aura, and the old metallic texture makes one think of the vicissitudes of time.
At first glance, this machine looks like an antique relic from a distant era, but it is inexplicably placed in a futuristic science fiction world full of technology. The two form a strong visual contrast and seem so out of place.
"What? Interested in this?"
Lingye noticed that Meros had stopped to observe the machine and turned to ask him a question.
"Hmm... how should I put it, it feels very familiar to me."
Upon hearing Ling Ye's words, Meros nodded, then hesitated before speaking.
"Let's go then, let's take a closer look. I was originally going to tell you about this, but since you're interested, let's go check it out first."
Seeing that Meros was really interested, Lingye took a step and led him towards the huge machine.
....................................
"Hey, hey, hey, you two, stop arguing! Calm down, okay?"
A young man standing nearby couldn't stand it any longer and quickly spoke up to dissuade him.
However, the two old men seemed not to hear him at all and continued arguing heatedly.
"Let me tell you, this thing is 100% for detection! How can you be so clueless? You actually said it's for absorbing energy, that's utter nonsense! The real energy absorber should be the other outlet!"
The elderly man with a full head of white hair pointed to the pipe outlet in front of him and said with an unusually serious expression.
"Hmph, you're the one talking nonsense! This is clearly a device for absorbing energy. Look at these shimmering rings of light, and that small, exquisite jar on top—what else could it be but a device for storing energy? You, on the other hand, know absolutely nothing and are just spouting nonsense!"
Upon hearing this, another old man flew into a rage and shouted angrily at the old man who had just spoken.
After saying that, he glared at the other person fiercely, as if he felt that his point of view was impeccable.
"You're the one who knows absolutely nothing! This is clearly a detection device. Look at the tentacle-like structure at its outlet; isn't it specifically designed for detection? As for that little canister you mentioned, it's undoubtedly a container for storing the energy needed for the detection!"
The old man who was being accused naturally refused to let it go, and he raised his voice in rebuttal.
And so, neither of them would give in, and the argument escalated, eventually turning into a shouting match.
