Chapter 136: Movie Release
Chapter 136: Movie Release
After Xie Tingfeng left, the filming process had to continue. Gu Heng made a single phone call and brought over all the artists under Vision Entertainment.
When Huang Bo, Wang Baoqiang, and their group arrived at the scene, they simply found a camera position on the steps outside the Temple of Heaven.
Gu Heng waved his hand, holding the microphone: "One line each, then get out of here."
These guys didn't dare to say a word. They usually ate and drank well with Gu Heng, so they worked quickly. They finished lip-syncing and filming with laughter and left without lingering for even a second.
Next up are Yang Mi and Liu Yifei.
At the location outside the corner tower of the Forbidden City, the two of them each sang a line of lyrics.
At this moment, Liu Yifei still had a touch of baby fat and an ethereal beauty, while Yang Mi was radiant and glowing.
The little fox refused to leave after filming, dragging Liu Yifei behind the monitor to eat sunflower seeds.
"Hey, Sisi, look at that person over there..."
Liu Yifei has a laid-back personality; she simply covered her mouth and giggled along.
Gu Heng was too lazy to care about the two girls causing trouble.
After coordinating a set of shots, this guy stroked his chin and felt that it would be a waste for the lighting director not to act.
What's wrong with the director? Can't the director sing?
He immediately tossed the earphones to the assistant director, swaggered into the shot, and, despite the cold wind, delivered a heartfelt line.
The main focus is on providing a fully engaging experience.
The next few days will feature a host of singers including Dao Lang, Liu Huan, and Wu Suowei.
To showcase the scenery of Beijing, the entire song is filmed outdoors.
These people were all standing upright in the cold wind, their noses red from the cold, yet they still had to smile like flowers.
Yang Mi, bundled up in a down jacket, curiously leaned over and asked, "Gu Heng, why are they all standing while singing?"
Gu Heng rolled his eyes and said with a straight face, "Because there were no seats!"
Actually, it was the organizing committee's requirement that everyone sing standing up.
In just over ten days, the location shooting with more than a hundred people came to a swift and successful conclusion.
To put it bluntly, this is just a music video. Everyone lip-syncs, and the audio is then aligned in post-production. The technical level is ridiculously low. Even a random recent graduate from the Beijing Film Academy could have edited it perfectly, let alone Gu Heng.
Gu Heng had the film edited overnight, and after a quick look, he felt there were no problems. The next day, he took the tapes and went straight to the Olympic planning team.
Inside the office, Zhang Yimou watched the sample footage and nodded in satisfaction.
The imperial advisor was a straightforward man; he opened a drawer, pulled out a check, and handed it over: "Here, this is your director's fee. It's the organizing committee's rule; we can't let you work for free."
Gu Heng took the check, glanced at the amount casually, put it in his pocket, and grinned: "Director Zhang, you're so generous! Remember to call me next time there's something like this."
After saying that, he left without looking back.
At this point, there was only a little over a week left before the nationwide release of "Aftershock".
The pre-release publicity campaign had already begun, with the entire internet and major portal websites filled with press releases promoting the film.
The audience's expectations had already been raised to the maximum.
In preparation for this final week of sprint, Gu Heng dared not slack off and, together with Jiang Wenli, Yang Mi, and other main cast members, launched a nationwide roadshow.
Flying to three cities in one day, Yang Mi was exhausted from traveling and facing the media. She fell asleep as soon as she boarded the plane and didn't even have the energy to touch up her makeup.
Finally, the premiere day arrived.
The premiere was held at the largest and most prestigious cinema in Beijing, which is owned by China Film Group.
Han Sanping personally approved the venue, ensuring it was the most prestigious and impressive event.
I didn't go to Tangshan, nor did I go to Sichuan.
Gu Heng was afraid that if his intentions were too obvious, it would be difficult to explain later.
The premiere was a star-studded event, with many big names in attendance.
Everyone wanted to see what Gu Heng had come up with.
Several leaders from Tangshan also made a special trip to come over.
Gu Heng even paid out of his own pocket to invite dozens of core extras who participated in the on-location filming in Tangshan to the scene and arranged for them to sit in the VIP section.
When the main cast members took the stage, Gu Heng held the microphone and scanned the audience.
He avoided any flowery, sentimental platitudes, stating succinctly: "I won't say much more. This film is not only the culmination of our crew's hard work, but also a wake-up call from God for all of us. After watching it, I hope everyone will remember the self-rescue tips!"
As the main creators finished their brief remarks, the lights in the screening room suddenly dimmed.
The movie begins.
