Chapter 58
Chapter 58
"Are you deaf?!"
Nalan Jingwen had a headache and pulled him away.
"What are you doing here?"
Pei Yunche took her hand, raised his chin at the Mirror Pool, and said arrogantly, "What, he can come, but I can't?"
Nalan Jingwen frowned slightly and pulled her arm out of his grasp.
"You go back first."
"No, why should I go back? Why can't he go back!"
Pei Yunche pointed at the Mirror Pool and said angrily.
Nalan Jingwen turned to Jingchi and said, "You should go back too."
Jingchi merely glanced at Pei Yunche and said expressionlessly, "Serving you is my duty."
The implication is that if he doesn't leave, I won't leave either.
Upon hearing this, Pei Yunche's stubborn temper flared up. He quickly took off his shoes and coat, revealing a thin, almost transparent undergarment. No longer shy, he climbed onto Nalan Jingwen's bed and lay down, even taunting Jingchi, "Your Highness doesn't need your service tonight. This young master is enough. Guard Jing, go back and rest."
Jingchi didn't even glance at him, instead keeping his eyes fixed on Nalan Jingwen, ignoring Pei Yunche's words.
"Your Highness, your subordinate will assist you in changing your clothes."
Nalan Jingwen took two steps back, preventing his hand from touching him, and rubbed his temples.
"Pei Yunche, go back to your own room. Don't force me to throw you out."
"Fine, throw me out and let all your men see me, Pei Yunche, emerge from your room disheveled. My reputation will be ruined, and you can marry me then. I'd love to!"
He held onto the blanket tightly, his beautiful big eyes fixed on the mirror pool.
The latter simply lowered his head slightly, remained silent for a moment, then raised his hand to unbutton his clothes. Jingchi's fingers were distinct, long and strong, as he unbuttoned his clothes one by one. His shirt slid to the ground, revealing his strong upper body. He then knelt in front of Nalan Jingwen, raised his head, and his clear blue eyes were so pure that they made people want to taint them.
"Your Highness, let me help you rest."
Pei Yunche stared in disbelief, his hand trembling as he pointed at the Mirror Pool, his voice stammering.
"You...you...you...!"
"You actually tried to play dirty tricks on me!!"
He hadn't expected that the mirror pool would be so blatant, and that he had only worn one piece of clothing to Nalan Jingwen's room, with nothing else inside. He was the only fool who had actually worn two pieces of clothing!
Nalan Jingwen lowered her eyes, looking at the man kneeling on the ground staring at her intently, a complex expression flashing in her eyes.
Pei Yunche watched the two of them gazing at each other affectionately, oblivious to everyone else. His temper flared up, and he strode off the bed, stood in front of Nalan Jingwen, put his arm around her neck, and gave her an innocent-looking smile.
“Nalan Jingwen, it’s getting late. Let’s ignore these strange people and go to sleep. We have to travel tomorrow morning.”
Pei Yunche's current goal is to get into Nalan Jingwen's bed, and ideally, to have something happen between them, so that he won't have to enter the palace and can marry Nalan Jingwen naturally.
But he didn't know that once someone discovered that Pei Yunche's disappearance was related to Nalan Jingwen, the two would be completely bound together and could never be separated again. From then on, Pei Yunche would be completely associated with Nalan Jingwen's name.
Nalan Jingwen looked at the man who was holding her with an indifferent expression. He clearly knew nothing, but he insisted on acting like a seasoned lover. His body was gently rubbing against her, but this naive seduction was the most alluring thing.
Seeing that Nalan Jingwen remained unmoved, Pei Yunche decided to go all out. He closed his eyes and tried to kiss her red lips, but Nalan Jingwen turned her face away, and the kiss landed on her cheek.
Feeling something was wrong, he opened his eyes and was met with a pair of deep, dark eyes. He was stunned and his expression was slightly blank before Nalan Jingwen pulled him off her.
Nalan Jingwen glanced at the two people in the room. One was disheveled, with a blank expression and a somewhat silly look. This pure and innocent appearance was most likely to arouse the beastly desires in people's hearts.
The other remained silent, his upper body naked, kneeling there quietly, as if waiting to be abused, to see him suppress a sound from the extreme.
Nalan Jingwen suddenly felt a bit hot and took a deep breath, then looked away.
"I'm going out for a walk. You may do as you please."
After saying that, he grabbed his coat and went out the door.
Let them do whatever they want; she was feeling hot and inexplicably irritable, so she simply went out.
Pei Yunche realized that Nalan Jingwen was nowhere to be seen, and he gritted his teeth in anger. Seeing the unresponsive man on the ground, he became even angrier.
"It's all your fault! You scared them away! You've ruined my plans. You can have your fun by yourself, I'm not playing along!"
After saying that, she stormed back to her room.
The room fell completely silent. Only then did the man on the ground stir. He looked at his hands, slightly dazed, as if the unique scent of Nalan Jingwen still lingered on them, but he showed no intention of getting up.
A very low murmur dissipated in the room.
"Is it... really you...?"
……
Nalan Jingwen was all alone on the street. It was already dark, and there were no pedestrians or streetlights on the road. Only the clear light of the bright moon hanging high in the sky illuminated the dark stone road.
She walked slowly, the cool night breeze making her a little more awake, but the restlessness deep in her body still couldn't be dispelled. She walked aimlessly forward, when a pink petal drifted down in front of her.
I reached out and caught it; it lay quietly in my palm.
It turned out to be a crabapple blossom.
April is the season for crabapple blossoms, so it's not surprising.
In modern times, she also planted a crabapple tree in her courtyard. Because it was so beautiful and lovely, she had someone plant one. In the vibrant spring, the pink crabapple blossoms looked like something out of a painting.
The only downside is that it has no fragrance, which is a bit of a shame.
Gently placing the petals in his bosom, he looked up at the sky. It was almost midnight; it was time to go back.
Suddenly, Nalan Jingwen shuddered as an overwhelming heat surged through her body, causing her to collapse to her knees.
It hurts so much, my whole body aches, and my lower abdomen feels like it's on fire.
She was shocked. What was going on?! Was that power at work again? But she had clearly fused with it, hadn't she?!
Nalan Jingwen felt as if his whole body was about to explode. His long hair flew wildly without wind, turning golden inch by inch as it fluttered. His black eyes turned blood red, as if he were bloodthirsty.
She looked up and saw that the originally clear, silvery-white moon had turned crimson, emitting a faint glow.
A gong and drum sounded in the distance: "The weather is dry, be careful with fire."
It's midnight.
Nalan Jingwen was about to be unable to withstand the intense heat within his body. His eyes turned bloodshot, his consciousness began to blur, and his reason gradually collapsed.
