Chapter 51 Heavenly Palace Arc: Prequel - "Fun Things Before Boarding"
At 13:45 PM in London, Ming, who had just arrived at the most luxurious suite at the airport, slowly stood up, dragging his suitcase.
"Is this the place?" Ming muttered to himself. He then glanced at the sign above the door that read "Top-Tier Private Room" to confirm.
'Knock! Knock! Knock!' Accompanied by three rhythmic knocks on the door, a moment later, a cold and emotionless female voice came from behind the door:
"Who?" Just two words, yet they were like a cold wind, spoken in the same icy, emotionless tone as Ming himself.
"Your Majesty Princess Angelica, sent by the SSS to escort you. You may call me Klein." Ming introduced himself through the door, but the person inside remained silent for a long time after hearing Ming's voice, as if she was thinking about something.
After waiting a while, seeing that the eldest princess inside the door had not yet replied, Ming glanced at his watch and then spoke again:
“Your Majesty, if we don’t set off soon, we may not be able to reach our destination on time.” Ming’s voice remained calm and indifferent.
At that moment, movement finally came from inside the room. First, there was a light footstep, then a gray eye peeked out through the peephole in the center of the door, looking at the man in the doorway, before its pupil suddenly contracted.
The door slowly opened, and a mature, long-haired girl with white hair, about 1.74 meters tall, came into Ming's view. She was wearing a gorgeous white dress, the hem of which trailed on the ground like flowing moonlight.
Her delicate face was expressionless, her eyes cold as if ignoring the world, but her gaze became flustered when she saw Ming.
Princess Angelica opened her mouth, her face flushing crimson for a moment, but she remained silent. Ming waited for her response with an expressionless face.
"Your Majesty, Your Highness..." Ming finally spoke, growing impatient.
Upon hearing Ming's question, Princess Angelica suddenly came to her senses. At this moment, the way she looked at Ming changed slightly. The originally cold princess became somewhat like a girl experiencing her first love.
"I...I'm sorry, Mr. Black...Klein, may I ask if we've met before?"
In Ming's eyes, a hint of expectation flickered in her gaze as she looked at him, as if awaiting his answer. Seeing this, he pondered for a moment before replying:
"Uh... I'm sorry, no, I don't remember anyone other than 'that person' and 'people who are useful to me,' and besides, you are a princess, so it's highly likely I haven't met you before."
Upon hearing this, Princess Angelica's hope vanished instantly. 'Could it be... that I've made a mistake again?' the girl thought with some disappointment, her mood becoming somewhat gloomy.
But she quickly regained her royal elegance and nodded slightly. "I see. I was being presumptuous."
Ming remained indifferent, merely gesturing for the princess to depart. The two walked silently towards the airport, the atmosphere oppressive and somber, yet neither completely dismissed their own suspicions.
When they reached the boarding gate, Ming suddenly stopped and looked towards the restroom where the suspicious figures he had sensed when he brought Princess Angelica into the airport were hiding.
He then turned to the princess he was protecting and said expressionlessly, "Excuse me, Your Majesty, please give me three minutes. There's something I need to attend to over there."
Princess Angelica followed his gaze, and although she had some doubts, she nodded in permission:
"Oh, Mr. Klein, please hurry back. It's not long before this private jet takes off."
"As you wish."
After hearing this, Ming bowed slightly but did not kneel down; he simply gave a deep bow and then walked towards the direction from which the thread had come in the toilet.
Perhaps, Ming believes that his queen is someone else, and that he will only kneel before 'that woman'.
Ming entered the restroom, which was filled with a pungent smell of cleaning agents. Several figures were standing in the corner, talking in hushed tones.
Ming, hands in his pockets, slowly approached the figures. "Who are you? What are you doing lurking around here?" His voice was as cold as the winter wind.
One of them sneered, "Who we are is not important. What's important is that this princess won't be leaving here alive today."
Ming sneered.
Ming sneered, "Just you guys?" The group exchanged glances, then drew their weapons and charged at Ming.
Ming remained calm and dodged the first person's attack by sidestepping it. He then kicked the person in the knee with a sharp crack, and the person fell to the ground with a scream.
Then he reached out and grabbed the blade of the dagger that the second man was thrusting at him. With a twist, the dagger slipped from his hand, and he punched the man in the abdomen. The man immediately curled up like a shrimp.
Seeing this, the third person turned to run away, but Ming suddenly had a coin in his hand. He flicked it lightly, and the coin shot out like a bullet, hitting the man squarely on the back of the head. The man passed out without even uttering a sound.
The remaining two looked at Ming in terror, and tried to struggle, but Ming quickly stepped forward, grabbed them by the neck with one hand, and lifted them up.
"What a pity, this is a toilet. It's inconvenient for you to clean up the body here, and you can't start a fire here either. So tell me your purpose and congratulate you on escaping with your lives, or don't blame me for being impolite."
The two men were flushed but speechless. Seeing this, Ming simply threw one of them to the ground, stomped on him, and then slowly put the other down, coldly saying:
"One minute. If you can't finish speaking in one minute, your fate won't be much better than being trampled under my feet."
The person who was put down gasped for breath, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and fear. "We...we just wanted to avenge...Her Majesty Princess Anslila, who had treated us kindly!"
"Oh? Revenge... But you should know that the person who killed Her Majesty the Second Princess wasn't an elf called [Flame Beast]?" Ming asked with great interest after hearing this.
"Pah! What elf!" The assassin's expression suddenly became even angrier. "That fire beast must have been sent by that wicked First Princess to secure her succession. Who would believe such a vague thing as an elf?" the man said through gritted teeth.
Upon hearing this, Ming's lips twitched almost imperceptibly, then he continued to look at the assassin before him, saying somewhat speechlessly:
"Uh... actually, Princess Angelica didn't need to do this at all, you know?"
The assassin was stunned by Ming's sudden remark, then burst into a tirade, "You damn bodyguard, what do you mean by this?!"
Ming didn't show much change in expression, but slowly answered:
"Because... there are records in ancient British royal books that they usually choose the eldest son or daughter to inherit the throne, and the second son or daughter are usually not considered."
"what?!"
"Moreover, you must understand that the current British royal family is a powerless vacancy. Even if she became Queen of England, it wouldn't make much difference. Besides, who would ruin their reputation and assassinate their own sister for a powerless, empty position?"
After hearing Ming's words, the assassin hesitated, the anger in his eyes gradually fading, replaced by doubt. "You... are you telling the truth?"
Ming nodded slightly. "I have no reason to lie to you. All of this is just your speculation."
The assassin was silent for a moment, then said in a low voice, "Then why was only that so-called elf present at the scene?"
Ming crossed his arms and said, "I wasn't there, so who am I supposed to ask? Okay, close your eyes for now." With that, Ming knocked the assassin unconscious with a karate chop.
After tying up the assassin and setting him aside, he began to carefully survey his surroundings. He then walked towards Princess Angelica, who was still waiting for him at the entrance of the private jet.
After boarding
Ming chatted easily and pleasantly with Princess Angelica with a smile on his face. They talked about various interesting topics and laughed from time to time (Angelica was forcing a smile and trying to find topics to talk about, while Ming gave occasional indifferent replies).
"Mr. Klein, do you have a lover now?" Angelica asked with a somewhat expectant expression.
“…I guess I have.” After a long silence, Ming gave a reluctant answer to the question.
"Had it happened? Were you dumped... That's great! Uh... I mean, that's really bad. So, Mr. Klein's crush is... I'm sorry, Mr. Klein."
Upon hearing this, Ming's expression sharpened. "Your Highness Angelica, please refrain from making unwarranted speculations about my private life, especially about such unpleasant topics!"
Angelica was startled by his cold tone. He had been elegant and calm when discussing the previous questions, but when this topic came up, Ming's eyes seemed to turn murderous.
After a while, somehow the conversation naturally turned to music, especially the violin, an elegant and charming instrument.
"It seems Mr. Klein has heard of the violin. Here, there's one in the cabin. Would you like to give it a try?"
To ease the heaviness of the previous conversation, Angelica pointed to the violin in the corner of the room.
At this moment, Ming, who was standing to the side, suddenly had a glint of interest flash in his eyes, which had been as calm as still water.
“I practiced with my father when I was young, so I can still manage to play a little tune,” Ming said, taking the initiative to introduce what he had learned.
The light was like a shooting star streaking across the night sky, brief yet dazzling. He walked slowly toward the violin, each step exuding composure and confidence.
Walking up to the violin, Ming gently reached out and carefully picked it up.
He carefully examined the instrument in his hands, his fingers gently touching the strings, savoring the delicate texture. Then, he turned to Princess Angelica beside him with a smile, and said in a charming voice, "Your Highness, may I have the honor of playing a piece for you?"
Ming gently picked up the violin, adjusted his posture, and placed the bow on the strings.
Inside the private cabin, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes when he saw the exquisite violin. He gently picked it up, tested the sound, and found it to be absolutely beautiful.
Then, the long-awaited airplane journey slowly unfolded amidst Ming's lively and melodious violin music.
