Chapter 66 Capturing Klein

In the hallway, Klein had just turned the corner when he saw Batman looking completely at ease.

He stood tall and straight, and through the black bat mask, one could see his deep blue eyes.

In Klein's plan, those eyes should have been glazed over and filled with terror, but they were now perfectly clear.

In those clear eyes, Klein saw anger, disgust, and mockery.

Batman's voice was low and menacing. "Then I'll hang you from the top of Gotham City's tallest building, so everyone can see what a pathetic wretch you are!"

"You...you bastard, you demon!"

Batman's words triggered Klein's reaction. The thought of being naked and exposed to the public made him tremble uncontrollably.

"Please, please let me go. The controller is in my pocket. There are two buttons; just press the blue one..."

Driven by fear, Klein spoke rapidly.

Batman carried him and first turned off the ventilation system, then went down to the 5th floor platform and pressed the blue button.

The countdown on the launcher had less than a minute left, and then it all stopped with a "beep".

"Batman, I've done as you said... Please let me go..."

"Let you go?"

Batman glanced at Klein, and amidst Klein's terrified scream, Batman ripped off the specially made gas mask from his face.

"You bastard, you demon! You'll die a horrible death!"

Klein had just uttered a couple of curses when, as he inhaled the fear gas, his eyes first became glazed over, then filled with terror.

"Don't come any closer, you monster!"

Despite Klein's desperate struggles, he was bound by steel cables and had no way to escape.

By the end, Klein's voice was trembling with sobs.

Ignoring the erratic Klein, Batman simply took out his communicator and dialed Levi's number.

At the entrance of the broadcast tower.

"Batman, how's it going?"

Li Wei took out his communicator and immediately asked Batman how he was doing.

"I've caught the scarecrow, and all the launching devices have stopped."

Batman maintained his indifferent tone, "You'll be able to come in and clean up the mess in about half an hour."

"And what about you?"

Hearing Klein's screams coming through the communicator, Levi couldn't help but ask Batman about his next plan.

"Me? I have something to take care of, so I won't be meeting with you."
