Chapter 190: Confinement
Chapter 190: Confinement
The few of them arrived at the Wu residence. Their faces were expressionless. Everyone in the residence looked at them curiously.
Master Wu pondered for a moment before ordering his men to take the two of them to Qingsheng's room and keep them under strict observation. The two exchanged glances, breathing a sigh of relief, feeling that this treatment was not bad at all.
Just as he was about to leave, Ran Mo suddenly thought of something and said to Master Wu, "I don't know how long you will keep us locked up. You should send someone to my house to tell my mother so that she won't worry."
Ran Mo mentioned this because she was really worried that her mother wouldn't be able to find her, and secondly, she was secretly hoping that her mother could think of some way to rescue them.
Mr. Wu thought about it and realized she was right. He was the one who decided what to do. He chuckled and said, "That's fine. I'll send someone to tell your family that you're very happy here and don't want to go back at all."
When the two heard this, they thought this old man was really scheming. Mr. Wu then asked: "Where do you live and what is the name of your elder?"
"The one opposite the old crooked tree at the west end of the town. My mother is Liu Mo." Ran Mo answered truthfully.
Liu Moshi? Master Wu was visibly stunned upon hearing this. Then he muttered, "Liu Moshi is your mother? No wonder she can..." and stopped talking.
Ranmo couldn't tell from his tone what his relationship with his mother was like, so he stopped talking. Master Wu called out, and the two of them, along with the servants, went to Qingsheng's house.
After the two entered the house, the servant bowed and said, "Sorry." Then he locked the door from the outside.
Qingsheng hadn't expected the door to be locked, and he went over to shake it, but it didn't help. Ranmo thought it was better to lock it and wait and see what would happen.
She waved to Qingsheng, asking him to come sit beside the bed. Qingsheng came to the bed and sat down. Looking at Ranmo, he suddenly revealed a meaningful smile.
Ran Mo looked at his eyes and expression and knew that he was up to no good. A man and a woman locked in a room together, who knows what will happen, according to common sense.
Ranmo sat down nearby and asked Qingsheng if there was anything he could do. Qingsheng reassured her, saying, "Don't worry, Master Wu won't do anything to them." However, they would have to sleep in the same bed again tonight. He spoke as if he had to accept it with resignation.
Ran Mo glanced at him and continued, "When Mr. Wu heard my mother's name just now, he seemed to know her. I just don't know if he would give her a favor and let us go."
Qing Sheng waved his hand and said, "Don't even think about it. Master Wu has a bad temper and sometimes even ignores my father. Of course, they have a good relationship, otherwise I wouldn't live here to practice martial arts."
He glanced at Ran Mo again and said, "Let's discuss how to sleep tonight."
Ranmo ignored him and went to the table to get some water. Qingsheng then stood up and walked behind Ranmo, wanting to hug her.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Qingsheng quickly separated and asked what was going on? Why was he knocking even though he knew the door was locked from the outside?
A servant's voice sounded, "Mr. Chu, the master asks if you have reflected on this and feel regretful for helping Young Master Wu hide the truth and disrespecting your elders?" He breathed a sigh of relief after saying that.
It's rare for a servant to speak such elegant words of advice while wielding swords and sticks on a daily basis. I guess he spent quite a while memorizing this short paragraph.
Upon hearing this, Qingsheng said angrily, "We haven't done anything wrong, so why should we reflect on ourselves? Young Master Wu is our brother, so it's only natural for us to help him. As for Old Master Wu, we haven't offended him, and it's always him who comes to lecture us. We respect the elders, but does he love the young?"
Qingsheng finished speaking in one breath, and even Ranmo was a little impressed by his eloquence and clear thinking.
The man outside sighed and said, "Mr. Chu, it's hard for us to go back and reply to the master like this."
"Then just keep it brief. He's not going to let us out anyway. Oh, by the way, when will the food be delivered? We're all a little hungry."
The man said calmly, "The master has ordered that if Mr. Chu doesn't reflect on his actions for a moment, you may not be able to have lunch until someday."
What? Qingsheng was immediately enraged. They were planning to starve them to death. He went over and pounded on the door, demanding they release them immediately.
There was no movement outside the door for a while. The servant saw that the situation was not good and ran to report to the master.
Ranmo asked Qingsheng to come over and sit down, and to be patient. Qingsheng sat down next to her and said that he could actually handle it, but he was afraid that Ranmo would be hungry.
Ran Mo smiled slightly and said that he was not hungry. He brought up the topic again, saying that there was nothing serious wrong with us, but he was a little worried and wondered what Azan was doing.
When Qingsheng heard her mention Azan, he suddenly remembered that there was a younger brother of his who was imprisoned by the ruthless Master Wu. He immediately gave up the idea of playing around and fell into deep thought.
